MannMela is AnubhutI’s carefully designed youth initiative born out of a deep understanding that mental health support must be accessible, culturally grounded and rooted in dignity. Over the years, AnubhutI has observed how young people from nomadic, rural, Adivasi and marginalised communities often struggle in silence, carrying emotional burdens without a space where they can express themselves freely. MannMela was created as a direct response to this gap—an effort to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to reflect, articulate, share and feel seen.
Through MannMela, AnubhutI has been conducting immersive sessions across colleges, Ashram Shalas and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). What began as an initiative to open conversations around emotional wellbeing has now evolved into a transformative journey for hundreds of young participants. They are learning to understand their feelings more deeply, accept their challenges instead of suppressing them, think critically about their circumstances and express themselves with confidence. Many youth have shared that MannMela offers them the first safe environment where their voices are heard without judgement.
The engaging and interactive format—featuring games, quizzes, songs, film screenings and reflective activities—has been developed intentionally by AnubhutI to help break hesitation and make emotional expression natural. These methods build trust and create a culturally familiar, accessible space where youth feel comfortable exploring their inner worlds.
As these sessions progress, AnubhutI’s facilitation encourages participants to look beyond individual struggles and connect mental health with larger social realities. The conversations seamlessly expand into discussions on justice, fairness, the biases we hold, standing in solidarity with one another and recognising the inherent dignity of every human being. This integrated approach allows young people to understand that emotional wellbeing cannot be separated from social conditions, discrimination or inequality—they are deeply connected.
A distinctive strength of MannMela is how AnubhutI anchors every dialogue in the values of the Indian Constitution. Participants explore how principles such as equality, liberty, fraternity and dignity shape not just society but also their emotional lives. They begin to see mental wellness as more than the absence of distress; it becomes an expression of their rights, their worth and their place in a just society. This connection empowers youth to imagine what mental dignity, mental justice and holistic mental wellness truly look like in their daily lives.
Through MannMela, AnubhutI is nurturing a generation of thoughtful, aware and compassionate young individuals who recognise their own value and stand up for the dignity of others. It is more than a programme—it is a movement toward a society where every young person feels emotionally secure, socially supported and constitutionally empowered.
