internationalwomensday It was celebrated with great intellectual enthusiasm in the presence of more than 150 young people from Thane district. The continuous organising of DenotifiedNomadic and Adivasi youth is creating a sense of hope. In fact, during the month of March—with rising temperatures, exam season, and overall exhaustion—it is not easy to bring so many young people together on one platform. The appreciation for these young participants can never be enough. In this full-day programme organised by Anubhuti Trust, we discussed the basic understanding of GenderJustice and the initiatives for transformation that have emerged at both national and global levels. From a simple sip of water, the clothes we wear, to constitutional rights—none of these have come to us effortlessly. Whether in this country or anywhere in the world, such rights and dignities have been earned through human struggles. While earning these rights, people have had to face losses and setbacks in many ways. In this long struggle, women and sexual minorities have had to walk even more uneven and difficult paths. Through this journey, we must continue to sow the seeds of equality in the soil around us. To claim the sky and the land that have long been held in closed fists, we will have to struggle. We must question and critically examine the politics embedded in our everyday personal lives—from the home to the wider world. In all of this, young people will play a crucial role. This gathering of Denotified Nomadic and Adivasi youth is like a swarm of fireflies—small lights, but full of possibility. feminism
