Cultural Movement is a great companion for the youth towards building personality, morality, intervention and overall citizenship. From Nomadic Denotified tribes and Indigenous communities, these youth take to singing easily. Singing is part of their common ways of expression – it is not alien from their common ways of life.

They come together from about 20 villages as members of the Badlache Parv Kala Manch. The month of April which is rich with the birth of great icons like Emperor Ashoka, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahatma Phule, Akka Mahadevi, Mahavir, Basavanna, and others, was celebrated in this unique way where the youth came together in this energetic and rational way for collective development.

They started with building an understanding of the overall cultural movement in this two-day residential camp, followed by together learning and practicing performances; the older youth guiding the younger. The highlight was that the facility where the two-day residential camp was organized – a Buddha Vihar – observed how the youth practiced and studied from dawn till night, and impressed, they asked for a performance for all their members on the last day.

Last but not least, Sambhaji Bhagat the renowned cultural activist kicked off the program with a 1-hour interaction where he touched upon the significance and history of cultural movements, and their youth connection.
