Anubhuti has launched the Mannmauji Housie !

This is another addition to our Mann Mela module which is a games-based module led entirely by peer youth leaders. It uses simple, everyday examples, stories, images, artwork, folk references to help community members open up about their mental health struggles using a language they understand and speak.

“Manmauji Housie” is an addition to this module; It is a different take on this popular game played in communities. It subverts words and phrases that label, target, put down particular identities based on gender, caste, religion, language, occupation, sexuality… It leads us to question such verbal violence. To question why the names of certain communities or identities are used negatively, and to question the system that has created such violence. That this kind of verbal, language-based violence which can impact the mental dignity of individuals at community and historical scale, needs to be dismantled – is the final message of this game.

This game can be played anywhere, by anyone, using our module and instructions. Fellows of our Guts Fellowship 2025 program are the first batch to be trained to facilitate this module! And they have already started playing the game with their peers in the communities.

Created by our founder Deepa Pawar, based on her lived experiences as a member of a Nomadic Tribe, and her years of experiences working with these communities.
